Fair Park is Dallas’ largest cultural center. The 277-acre park is the largest historical landmark in Texas. Established in 1880, Fair Park is owned and operated by the City of Dallas and has nearly 300 acres of museums, exhibit facilities, and park areas. Since 1886, Fair Park has been the site of the State Fair of Texas, the largest state fair in the United States. Fair Park is also home to eight museums, an IMAX Theater, a planetarium, The Dallas Aquarium, The Cotton Bowl, an outdoor amphitheater, Music Hall at Fair Park (Broadway shows, ballet, opera), and over one-hundred special events and cultural festivals each year.
