The Trinity River Audubon Center opened in 2008 and offers visitors the opportunity to explore hands-on exhibits, miles of nature preserve with hiking and biking trails, kayaking tours, building features and the Children’s Discovery Garden. The center hosts classes for all ages and also offers 2-hour guided trips down the Trinity River.

The Trinity River Audubon Center is part of the great Trinity Forest which boasts 6,000 acres of bottomland woods along the Trinity River that flow through South Dallas. It is the largest urban hardwood forest in the country and offers many recreational activities in its outdoor trails. Through the work of the Trinity River Corridor Project, there are 10,000 acres and 20 miles of river corridor to visit.
